How we count ad impressions
What counts as one valid impression
- Visible: at least 50% of the billboard's pixels are on screen and not hidden behind a building, for at least 1 continuous second (the standard display-ad viewability rule; the 3D scene is the "page").
- Big enough to read: the board must be a minimum height on screen; the back of a board never counts.
- Nearby: the server (not the player's phone) knows where the player is, and it must be within 90 m of the board.
- The right ad: the server decides which advertiser is on a board in each 10-second rotation window. Evidence for any other ad is discarded.
- Fresh: evidence older than 2 minutes is discarded.
- One per window: a player counts once per advertiser per board per rotation window, with a 10-second dedupe.
- Real players, real tabs: hidden tabs do not count; automated browsers are filtered; claims are rate-limited per player.
What the game sends
The game never sends counts. It sends evidence (board, window, how much was visible, for how long). The server checks every piece against what it already knows and increments the counter itself.
What advertisers see
- Gross claims, valid impressions, and filtered out, with a breakdown of reasons.
- Unique players, valid taps (clicks) and click-through rate.
- Test bots are clearly labelled and never inflate registered-player numbers. See live numbers.
What we do not do (yet)
- No third-party audit or MRC accreditation. This is our own method, designed to follow MRC-style rules.
- No demographic claims. Players self-declare 18+ only.
- No payments in this build: all rates are estimates.
